Holmesglen’s 2008 ‘Iron Apprentice’ Winner

Holmesglen’s 2008 “Iron Apprentice” winner Ashley Bradshaw
has been awarded first prize in the annual competition for thirdyear
cookery apprentices.

Named in reference to the cult television cookery show, The Iron Chef, the competition allows apprentices to serve a four-course menu which is served with specially chosen wines.

A total of 14 students entered this competition with Ashley winning his way to the top – his kitchen leadership and team work played a huge role in him winning first prize.

Ashley is deeply passionate about Italian and Mediterranean cooking and hopes to work in Italy and learn the cuisine first hand. He also hopes to share a thing or two about the way chefs do things in Australia.

Ashley won a prize of two day’s work experience with Gary Mehigan at Fenix and the Boathouse restaurants.

Holmesglen would like to congratulate Ashley on his win.
